Home » About Us
We at Berean Bible Church are simply sinners saved by the sovereign grace of God (see Ephesians 1:3-14). We were once not a people but are now the people of God (see 1 Peter 2:10).
Due to the great mercy that we have obtained in Jesus Christ it is our desire to glorify God through public worship and the preaching of His Word to all.
We endeavour to make our Lord’s Day service interesting and meaningful, however we make no effort to entertain.
The integral elements of each worship service are: the reading of God’s Word (1 Tim. 4:14), singing praises to God (Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16), the offering of our prayers (1 Tim. 2:8), with the great part of each service normally given to expository preaching of God’s Word (2 Tim. 4:1-4).
We also gather most Lord’s Days after our fellowship lunch to study the Scriptures in various Bible Classes.
Obviously our church life is characterized by simplicity, for which we do not apologize, but rather unashamedly declare that we seek to reflect the emphasis of Acts 2:42.
The name of a church often describes something about that group. So what about the ‘Berean Bible Church’?
By God’s grace we wish to be like the original Bereans mentioned in the Bible, “they received the word with all readiness and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so,” Acts 17:11.
We seek to conform all of our teaching and practice to God’s inspired Word. This means we are not interested in the traditions of men or the current trends in the contemporary church.
We do not desire to be a place of entertainment or a social club. We endeavour to be a true body of believers in submission to Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace 8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, 9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth–in Him. 11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, 12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. 13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.Ephesians 1:3-14
