Welcome

Due to the Lord’s mercy we are holding Sunday morning (9am) church services again. If you would like to visit us this Sunday we welcome you to join us. Please be aware to meet requirements for reopening, all visitors will need to provide contact details for COVID tracing. We also suggest you arrive early as seating is limited. Alternatively, you can access our live-stream service via the button 'Live Stream' at the top of the page.

We are glad that you have taken the time to find us on the web. We invite you to browse our site and if possible to worship with us when you are in our area (1A Waterworks Road, North Ipswich). We are a congregation of ordinary believers who strive to be Christ-centred. It is our desire “that in all things He may have the pre-eminence,” Colossians 1:18. We also wish to embrace the Apostle Paul’s perspective – “I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” 1 Corinthians 2:2. It is our heart’s desire to glorify and proclaim Jesus Christ

Monthly Quotes: John Piper

  • A woman who fears the Lord will not run away from God to satisfy her longings and relieve her anxieties. She will wait for the Lord. She will hope in God. She will stay close to the heart of God and trust in his promises. The prospect of departing into the way of sin will be too fearful to pursue; and the benefits of abiding in the shadow of the Almighty too glorious to forsake. Women of Faith in the Marketplace: Finding Your Kingdom Purpose

  • Whenever your heart starts to be anxious about the future, preach to your heart and say, “Heart, who do you think you are to be afraid of the future and nullify the promise of God? No, heart, I will not exalt myself with anxiety. I will humble myself in peace and joy as I trust this precious and great promise to God – He cares for me.” Sermon “Are you humble enough to be care-free?”

  • Why the emphasis on forgiving and forbearing rather than, say an emphasis on romance and enjoying each other… because God gets glory when two very different and very imperfect people forge a life of faithfulness in the furnace of affliction by relying on Christ. Sermon “Marriage forgiving and forbearing”

  • My feelings are not God. God is God. My feelings do not define truth. God’s Word defines truth. My feelings are echoes and responses to what my mind perceives. And sometimes – many times – my feeling are out of sync with the truth. When that happens – and it happen every day in some measure – I try not to bend the truth to justify my imperfect feelings, but rather, I plead with God: Purify my perceptions of your truth and transform my feelings so that they are in sync with the truth. Finally Alive: What Happens When We Are Born Again?

  • I am wired by nature to love the same toys that the world loves. I start to fit in. I I start to love what others love. I start to call earth “home”. Before you know it, I am calling luxuries “needs” and using my money just the way unbelievers do. I begin to forget the war. I don’t think much about people perishing. Missions and unreached people drop out of mind. I stop dreaming about triumphs of grace. I sink into a secular mindset that looks first to what man can do, not what God can do. It is a terrible sickness. Don’t Waste Your Life
